I’ve had blogs in the past but this is a different kind of blog. I have different goals this time. I want to be a more positive person – in the ways that other people see me and in the ways that I feel. I want to feel positive and not so stressed out and overwhelmed with life. There’s a lot that I can’t change and I’m trying to accept that. I want to grow as a person because I have control over that. I can aim higher and try to be better. I’m not the most sociable person with the most friends and maybe there’s not a lot I have going for me, but I’m trying and no one knows that except me. I’m trying to better myself and gain some confidence in myself, better my self-esteem. I’m trying to see life through a more positive lens. I’m trying so hard, in so many ways, and it’s going to work out in the end. I have to believe in that. I’m going out of my comfort zone in quite a few ways – which is something I’ve always been reluctant to do.
I started this blog about a week ago to give myself a voice, to start something that I could keep up with and could put energy into. I want this blog to be an established platform where not only I can come to get my thoughts and feelings out, but where my followers and viewers can also come to take a little time-out from the world.
This blog is just like me: all over the place but still focused, a little chaotic but pretty calm, and seemingly stressed but determined. It will feature a lot of relateable content – lifestyle aspects, photography, motivational rants, and much more.
A little about myself: I am a 21 year old college student. I start my last semester of undergrad in about a week. I graduate on May 17th with a Bachelors of Arts; major in psychology and minor in public health. I am submitting my application to grad school in a matter of days. I will be starting my Master’s in School Counseling and hopefully in a few years, I will be where I want to be as a professional.
And the name of this blog: my birthday is May 13th. And 13 has always been kind of a lucky number for me (surprisingly so).
If you’re someone looking to better yourselves, this is the place to be. Have hope. Want to read more about hope? Start here.
